This post is about your help to soldiers and veterans with rehabilitation. It’s one of our important ongoing support projects which we would love to continue. This month, we have covered the cost of rehabilitation courses for Andriy Stratulat and Eugene Kovshyk.
Andriy decided to return to Ukraine from abroad at the beginning of the hot war to become a soldier of A050 Military Unit and defend the country. He was captured a prisoner in Kharkiv province in 2022. He suffered torture and 20 horrible months in russian captivity. He was exchanged on Jan 31, 2024.
He has such symtoms as insomnia, nightmares, palpitations, anxiety, pain in the joints of the upper and lower limbs, difficulty in walking. As part of rehabilitation, Andriy has received a course of physiotherapeutic procedures, medical treatment, and worked with a psychologist and a rehabilitation specialist. There’s much more to do. I have not managed to meet Andriy in person. However, I had a chance to talk to Eugene.
His wounds were severe and his spinal cord was affected. His body is still filled with shrapnel. However, the doctors say his rehabilitation progress is considerable and his motivation is high. We have recorded a short interview to tell you about life in Ukraine at this time and the Ukrainian spirit. From the 1st person.
Continuing this and other projects is simply not possible without your help. Your support makes a difference.
